Adoption of the Agenda: Motion made to adopt the agenda as presented by Dr. F. Thomason; seconded by Dr. T. Hammond. All ayes — agenda adopted — No further discussion. Approval of the March 13th and April 10th Meeting Minutes: Motion made to adopt the minutes as presented by Dr. F. Thomason; seconded by Dr. T. Hammond. All ayes — agenda adopted — No further discussion. 4. Commissioner Term Update: J. Jones informed the commission that Steve Turney's term on Historic Preservation was over effective April 30'h, 2014 5. Election of Commission Vice Chairman: After Commission suggestion Dr. F. Thomason volunteered to be Vice Chairman for the 2014-2015 year. Motion made to appoint Dr. F. Thomason as the Vice Chairman of the Meridian Historic Preservation Commission by Dr. T. Hammond; seconded by R. Nesbit. All ayes - motion approved. Dr. F. Thomason is Commission Vice Chair. 6. Approval of the Monthly Financial Statement: Motion made to approve the financial statement as presented by Dr. T. Hammond; seconded by R. Nesbit. Approval of Invoices: Continued to June 2014 meeting b. FY2015 Budget Update 7. Current City Applications (Review and Comment): None to present. J. Jones will remove this item from future agendas unless an item to discuss is presented. B. Johnston recommend an ordinance or resolution be approved that would require notification of the HPC if any development or changes to a historic property or structure are permitted through the Community Development Department. B. Nary will work to create a document for City Council approval. Historical Society and History Center Update by Lila Hill: Lila Hill presented. A copy of the written report is on file. 9. Old Business a. Approval of the Historic Preservation Plan: Motion made to approve the Historic Preservation Plan with amendments by Dr. T. Hammond; seconded by R. Nesbit. All ayes — plan approved — No further discussion. B. Nary will draft a resolution to be presented so that the Historic Preservation Plan can be adopted by the City Council. 10. New Business Discussion on Continuing Education Credits by Commissioner Nesbit: R. Nesbit presented to the Commission and will provide more information and specifics a the June 2014 meeting. 11. Discussion of Upcoming Projects for 2014 and Public Outreach a. Preservation Month Event — Walking Tour Launch Marketing Material Approval: Commission approved the marketing materials presented by J. Jones. ii. Budget Discussion: Motion made for spending authority in the not -to -exceed amount of $750.00 for use to host the Walking Tour Launch event on May 31, 2014 by Dr. F. Thomason; seconded by T. Hammond. All ayes — No further discussion b. Walking Tour Status Update: J. Jones informed the Commission that all is on target for the May event. Commissioner F. Thomason will assist with the Mary McPherson booth, Commissioner J. Walters will help staff the QR Code booth, Commissioner B.
