Broadway, Meridian, Idaho Roll -call Attendance: O Steve Turney — Chair arrived at 5:40pm X Dr. Frank Thomason X Blaine Johnston — Vice Chair X Carol Harms O Dr. Tom Hammond X Joely Walters 2. Adoption of the Agenda: Motion made to adopt the agenda as presented by C. Harms; seconded by Blaine Johnston. All ayes — agenda adopted — No further discussion. 3. Election of Commission Chairman for 2014: Motion made to appoint Blaine Johnston as Chairman by Steve Turney, Seconded by C. Harms. All ayes - No further discussion — Blaine Johnston is 2014 Chairman. 4. Election of Commission Vice Chairman for 2014: Motion made to appoint Carol Harms as Vice Chairman by Dr. F. Thomason, Seconded by S. Turney. All ayes - No further discussion — Blaine Carol Harms is 2014 Vice Chairman. 5. Approval of the November 14, 2013 Meeting Minutes: Motion made to approve the minutes as presented by Dr. F. Thomason; seconded by J. Walters. All ayes — minutes approved — No further discussion. Approval of the Monthly Financial Statement: Continued to March 13, 2014 Current City Applications (Review and Comment): No applications to discuss 8. Historical Society and History Center Update by Lila Hill: Lila Hill presented. A copy of the written report is on file. Old Business a. Approval of the Annual Report: Motion made to approve the annual report with the noted change of the Chairman and Vice Chairman by S. Turney; Seconded by J. Walters. Motion approved - No further discussion b. Walking Tour Website Approval and Update: J. Jones showed the Commission the updated website. C. Harms made one recommended change to add verbiage to the main landing page regarding how each citizen is a part of Meridian's history. J. Jones will make suggested edit. Motion made to approve the website and make the site live with the noted change S. Turney, Seconded by Dr. F. Thomason. Motion approved - No further discussion C. 10. New Business a. Draft Historic Preservation Plan Comments and Public Comment Schedule: Commissioners discussed the public comment period schedule. Comment will be accepted by the Commission on March 13, 2014. J. Jones will prepare the notice for the paper to bring to the February meeting for approval before publishing. b. State of the City Schedule and Tickets: State of the City tickets are available free of charge by contacting the Mayor's Office. c. Term Expirations: Commissioner Turney's term expires in April of 2014. If he is still interested in sitting on the Commission a letter of interest should be forwarded to the Mayor's Office as soon as possible. 11. Discussion of Upcoming Projects for 2014 and Public Outreach a. Preservation Month Programming: Continued to February 13, 2014 b. Public Outreach: Continued to February 13, 2014 12.
