History Happened Right Here
“I expected to get to the river immediately … but found it many hundred feet below where I stood & impossible Chance to decend the Bluf. There lay the bright sparkling river, and the
rich green grass of the bottom in striking contrast with the arid .. Uplands.. But there was … rugged Bluff of Volcanic rock, as far as I could See, with not a sign of a break in its
rugged front …”
Winfield Scott Ebey Aug. 20th. 1854

Goals
Create a trails system plan that embodies the spirit of our vision through community participation
Design connected pathways for a variety of trail activities like walking, bicycling,
horseback riding, bird watching, river paddling, fishing and other outdoor activities
Connect the trails system to other community trail networks so the pathways can serve as an alternative
means of transportation in the Treasure Valley
Respect the rights of private landowners and the wishes of donors adjacent to the pathways system
Promote the health and wellness benefits
of the Boise River Trails to Treasure Valley residents and visitors
Provide educational opportunities and interpretation of the natural and cultural resources along the trails
Promote
the economic development of Boise River communities through partnerships, programs and facilities
