What makes the sports program a success?
Parks Staff- the crew goes above and beyond to make the parks look the way they do.
Program Participants- we have several returning teams each year and we have teams that have been
involved in the adult sports programs since they began.
Support from City Council, Parks Commission, Staff, and the Community.

Current Challenges
Lack of gym space. From mid October to June we are looking for a minimum of 65+ hours a week.
Lack of softball fields. We are extremely close to our max number of softball teams.
Number on complaint is that we don’t have the softball field atmosphere (concessions, other games going on at the same time, etc.).
Over used softball fields. This past summer we
had issues with the quality of fields late in the fall season. The batters boxes and pitchers mounds were over used and could have been a safety issue. Working with the Parks Crew,
we were able to fix the issue before it became a problem. We installed a more durable base and did some preventative maintenance on the batter’s boxes and pitchers mounds. All in all
it will save the City money in replacements.
