3. Approval of the December 2, 2015 Workshop Meeting Minutes Motion made

4. Approval of the February 11, 2016 Meeting Minutes Motion made to adopt the

S. Approval of the Monthly Financial Statement Motion made to adopt the

6. Historical Society and History Center Update by Lila Hill L. Hill presented her
report, on file. J. Evarst asked L. Hill if he could consult with Cole Valley Christian
School to get volunteers to input data, L. Hill confirmed.

a. Historic Sites Inventory Review — Google Sheets Working Document
H. Bodnar verified that she can make a new Google sheet to share with
commission, adding column as to who completed the review. H. Bodnar to
make a document for commissioners to use as a reference document,
step-by-step. B. Nary confirmed that commissioners can work on the
document without conflicting with open meeting laws.
b. Workshop — "A Value Model for Historic Preservation in Meridian" J.
Evarts provided update on his progress. B. Johnston offered to review and
work with him to finalize.
i. Advertising J. Evarts to present at MDBA meeting, H. Bodnar can
create a Facebook event, L. Hill suggested including a line on the
water bills.
c. National Historic Preservation Month Planning
L Offer to Host Venue Space for Idaho State Historic
Preservation Presentation of Historic Sites in Ada County R.
Mortensen endorsed holding a presentation here. H. Bodnar to
check to see how much advertising they will do and how we can
help. B. Nary suggested offering the same night that we are doing
our event, the evening of the 18th of May.
ii. "If This Property Could Talk"
1. Featured Properties Commissioners OK with the properties
listed no need to add.
2. Permissions and Permitting H. Bodnar to revise letter from
L. Hill and give to J. Evarts to obtain permission from
owners. L. Hill reported that the Meridian Historical Society
had previously used rolled foam mounting strips to stick to
windows. Used goo gone to clean surface after removal.
iii. Meridian History Center Archives Event H. Bodnar to schedule
to have tables set up to set archival items on. H. Bodnar, L. Hill,
and R. Mortensen to get an inventory and decide exactly what they
would want to feature that night. H. Bodnar to set up meeting for a
Tuesday evening.
iv. Guided History Walk Tours Commission decided to host tours on
5/18 (5:30-8:30) & 5/21(10:00- Noon), leave signs out over
Memorial Day weekend so that commissioners could offer
impromptu tours if available.
d. 2016 Meridian History Course Update B. Nary reported that dates have
selected, suggested looking at the list of prior speakers to coordinate
speaking times with the teachers — set a schedule for both days.

HPC — March 10, 2016
Additional source materials have been given to the teachers in charge of the History Class for
Teachers. And while at Mary Mac I met the new principal for the now under construction
Hillsdale grade school.
The list of property owners by subdivision, block & lot is continuing. I'm currently working on
J. M. Anderson's 2nd subdivision. Census work continues & someday we'll sit down & check the
list of residents against the home owners & attempt to locate dwellings by families!
We received from the Parks Department a large colored photo of the former J. M. K. farm &
outbuildings. The photo was the property of the now deceased Elden Gray who lived there. The
property is now The Village at Fairview & Eagle road.
We learned about century old political shenanigans in Meridian at our March meeting.
Robbie & I attended the second meeting of the group discussing a Children's Museum and this
time learned that what the presenters call a museum is a very loose interpretation of the word
museum and will affect the History Center very little if it materializes.
We have provided information to the Idaho Milk Producers historian and are currently working
with representatives of the local Nazarene church as they are celebrating their Centennial.
The Parks Department stopped in to ask about an area family, but, we had very little and not the
ones they were asking about — so we can't answer all the questions that come to us.

Trileaf Corporation is in the process of completing a NEPA Review at the referenced property. Our client
proposes to construct a 106 -foot tall monopole communications tower and associated equipment within a 50 -
foot by 50 -foot (2.500 square feet) lease area. The project includes a 12 -foot wide proposed access/utility
easement that extends east connecting with South Linder Road. Currently the site is an agricultural field. The
antenna will be licensed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Our investigation includes determining if the site is contained in, on or within the viewshed of a building, site,
district, structure or object, significant in American histon, architecture, archeology, engineering or culture. that
is listed, or eligible for listing on the State or National Registers of Historic Places, or located in or on an Indian
Religious Site.
Trileaf is requesting information regarding this tower's potential effect on Historic Properties. All information
receiN ed NA ill be forwarded to the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) as part of the Section 106 review
process. Additionally this invitation to comment is separate from any local planning zoning process that may
apply to this project.
