Re: Funding Request for Utility Box Art Wraps FY2017
Dear Chairman Escobar and MDC Board Members,
Mayor Tammy de Weerd
City Council Members:
Keith Bird Joe Borton
Luke Cavener Genesis Milam
Ty Palmer Anne Little Roberts
The Meridian Arts Commission respectfully requests that you partner with us in our continuing
effort to make the City of Meridian a vibrant place to live, work, and raise a family by
providing monetary support to the upcoming fiscal year 2017.
We would like to ask the board to consider allocating $5,000 to be used towards wrapping the
smaller utility boxes throughout the urban renewal area. Based off of a preliminary count,
there are over sixteen of these boxes in the urban renewal area, so we anticipate that the
effort to wrap each of these types of boxes will be an ongoing campaign. We hope to
integrate both youth and adult artwork on these boxes.
We thank you for your continued efforts to guide the city's downtown development. We look
forward to supporting and furthering your efforts through these types of partnerships. Thank
you again for all that you do!
Respectfully,
