willing to make a site visit during a trip in mid-May to confirm if the project could be

MERIDIAN ARTS COMMISSION MINUTES 0 MAY 4, 20169 PAGE I
Commissioners discussed the template that Hillary Bodnar prepared for funds planning.
Commissioners expressed an interest in keeping the planning document fairly general and use
percentages to demonstrate how funds will be distributed rather than specific dollar amounts.
Hillary Bodnar can update the document to better reflect this.
S. Public Request for Support Discussion
Mary introduced a project that was brought to her by Cheyenne: a local student seeks help
fundraising. Commissioners discussed that they should fall back on their strategic plan and fund
projects that they originate. Commissioners discussed that the Commission has other resources to
share and offer — outside of monetary resources. Bonnie referenced many successful artist -in -
residence programs and suggested an annual opportunity to receive artist proposals. If the
commission wants to develop a new means of offering support to artists they should continue to
discuss and formalize a program that they can plan on and implement from year to year.
6. Adjourn
Motion by Stephanie; second by Ellen to adjourn — all ayes — motion carried. Meeting adjourned at
3:39 p.m.
