BY THE CITY COUNCIL: BIRD, BORTON, CAVENER,
MILAM, PALMER, LITTLE ROBERTS
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN,
DESIGNATING THE CITY'S DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVES FOR NEGOTIATIONS
WITH THE MERIDIAN FIREFIGHTERS I.A.F.F. LOCAL 4627 FOR 2016; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Idaho Code §74-206A authorizes the City Council of the City of Meridian
to designate representatives to engage in negotiations with any recognized labor organization; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Meridian has recognized the Meridian
Firefighters I.A.F.F. Local 4627 as the representative body for the full time firefighters of the City as
defined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the entities that is effective currently and
until September 30, 2016; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has selected certain designated representatives to negotiate a
new Collective Bargaining Agreement and pursuant to Idaho Code have determined that this group
shall be empowered to represent the interests of the City of Meridian;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN CITY, IDAHO:
Section 1. That the following team shall be the designated representatives of the City
Council for the purpose of entering into and engaging in negotiation with the Meridian Firefighters
I.A.F.F. Local 4627 to create a new Collective Bargaining Agreement for October 1, 2016 and
beyond.
Section 2. That the team shall consist of Joe Borton, Councilmember; Bill Nary, City
Attorney; David Jones, Deputy Chief; Todd Lavoie, CFO; and Crystal Ritchie, HR Manager.
Section 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its adoption
and approval.
