BY THE CITY COUNCIL: BIRD, HOAGLUN, ROUNTREE, ZAREMBA
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, APPOINTING A COMMISSIONER TO THE MERIDIAN PARKS AND
RECREATION COMMISSION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Seat 2 on the Meridian Parks and Recreation Commission is vacant; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Meridian deems the appointment of Treg A.
Bernt to be in the best interest of the Meridian Parks and Recreation Commission and of the City
of Meridian;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN CITY, IDAHO:
Section 1. That pursuant to Meridian City Code § 2-2-3(A)(2), Treg A. Bernt is hereby
appointed to Seat 2 of the Meridian Parks and Recreation Commission, for a term to expire on
October 31, 2010.
Section 2. That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its
adoption and approval.

Dear Mayor de Weerd:
Please consider me for the Parks & Recreation Commission seat that you recently posted on
Facebook. Hopefully by reading this letter of interest, you will feel why I'm ready and excited
to serve and help out the city of Meridian.
Ever since I can remember, I have always had a desire to serve in some capacity in city
government. There is nothing more gratifying than serving and helping others. Over the years,
I've had many opportunities to serve the community in different capacities. For example, I was
invited to join the Rotary Club of Pocatello as a young professional where I served as the student
liaison at Idaho State University. Also, I have been involved with the Boy Scouts of America.
With the scouts, I was head of Varsity scout training for the Meridian District of the ORE -IDA
council.
I absolutely love Meridian and I'm grateful that I had the chance to move here from South
Eastern Idaho 6 years ago with my family. I'm a Territory Sales Manager with Tuftex of
California, a division of Shaw Industries. I pride myself on my dependability and the ability to
work well with others. I welcome hard work, I am willing to learn new skills, and I am mindful
of details that will strengthen our community. I believe strongly in adapting to new ideas. I'm a
confident leader, but very humble and always aware of where all blessings come from.
I would appreciate an opportunity to work for the City of Meridian as a commissioner for the
Parks and Recreation commission. If needed, I would be more than happy to submit a resume.
