A RESOLUTION PROVIDING THE MAYOR OF MERIDIAN, DON M. STOREY, WITH
THE AUTHORITY TO DEAL WITH THE IDAHO DEPARTMENT OF PARKS FOR THE
PURPOSE CF OBTAINING FINANCIAL AID FOR THE PURPOSE CMF CONSTRUCTING
MUNICIPAL RECREATION FACILITIES IN THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY9
IDAHO.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, ADA COUNTY9 IDAHOt
WHEREASp the City of Meridians Ada Countyq Idahop has determined
that there is a severe shortage of municipal recreation facilities
f -o:& the residents of said Cityq and
WHEREAS, the said City wishes to improve the recreation facilities
and environmental quality of the City and surrounding area, and
WHEREAS9 the City is agreeable to acting as sponsor for such
recreation projects as a golf course, tennis courts, picnic areasg ball
diamondsv and other similar items# and
WHEREAS , local contributions for construction funds g if matched
by Canal and Water Conservation Fund Let grantsg have been offered;
NOWs THEREFORE9 be it resolved by the City of Meridians Ada Countyq
Idaho, that the Mayor of said City# acting in behalf of the Cityq be
authorized to request a hearing by the State of Idahog,Department of Pskov
to' present a tentative plan for improved recreation facilities andq if said
heirin& is favorable to pursue the acquisition of grant funds from the Iand
and Water Conservation Fund Lct for the contruction of recreation facilities
as generally outlined on the tentative plan.
ADOPTED by the Council of the City of Meridians this 13th day of
December# 1971.
