MILAM, ROUNTREE, ZAREMBA
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO,
SETTING FORTH CERTAIN FINDINGS AND PURPOSES TO DECLARE SURPLUS
PROPERTY AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN TO
DONATE FIVE (5) RADAR UNITS TO THE CALDWELL POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Meridian to declare that certain radar units as
attached in Exhibit "A" as surplus as these particular items are no longer needed or used by the City of
Meridian;
WHEREAS, the City of Meridian's purchasing policy allows surplus City property to be
transferred to charitable organizations when the value of the property in question is of nominal value,
that is, valued at less than the cost of disposing of the property;
WHEREAS, the cost of maintaining the radar units herein until they were sold, if they could be
sold, exceeds their value to the City of Meridian and would result in the unnecessary expenditure of
City funds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Meridian desires to donate five (5) radar units listed in Exhibit "A" to
the Caldwell Police Department, a government agency, the mission of which is to provide law
enforcement services to the citizens of Caldwell, Idaho.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Mayor and City Council hereby authorize and declare that certain radar
units attached hereto as Exhibit "A" are surplus property.
Section 2. That the Mayor and City Council hereby authorize the conveyance of the radar
units listed in Exhibit "A" for no monetary consideration, to the Caldwell Police Department, Caldwell,
Idaho.
