PZ - Public Testimony by Rich & Charlaine Fisch - 6/25 June 25, 2015 Rick & Charlaine Fisch 3378 S Kentucky Way Meridian, ID 83642 Sonya Watters Associate City Planner City of Meridian 33 E. Broadway Ave, Suite 102 Meridian, ID 83642 Dear Ms. Watters: The purpose of this letter is to provide public comment on the proposed Kentucky Villas preliminary plat approval hearing scheduled for July 2, 2015 at the Meridian City Hall. The north property line of our residence and parcel in the Kentucky Ridge Estates Subdivision is shared with the south property line of the proposed new subdivision. We purchased the property in 1996 and built the house in 1998. We knew at some point in the future development would occur on the adjacent property. What we didn’t anticipate is a private driveway serving 8 homes would be placed right next to our property line. This is literally a few feet away from where our grandchildren play on our swing set and in the sand box. The existing fence is a split rail type and has been more than adequate for the last 17 years but will not provide the privacy, noise abatement, and safety needed when the development of the property commences. In the past year there have been two large parcels developed adjacent to out subdivision, Biltmore (now Oak Ridge) on the south and Revolution Ridge (now Kentucky Ridge 3 and 4) to the west of our subdivision. In both cases the developers have voluntarily installed 6 Foot vinyl privacy fences around the entire perimeters of their respective subdivisions. We respectfully request the same fence be installed on their south boundary (our north boundary) as a condition of the plat approval for our safety, noise abatement, and privacy. The developer is proposing the same type of fence on their north boundary along Victory Road. Photographs have been included to help clarify our request. Thank you for your consideration on this matter. Sincerely, Rick and Charlaine Fisch
