Sonya,
I live at 4272 S Tindaris Ave. in the Napoli subdivision There are five houses along our street that have their
east backyards next to the land listed above by Shelburne Properties. They are wishing to put a subdivision in
this area. I attended the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting and afterwards with some of my neighbors
visited with Randy Clarno, developer. He agreed to come visit with the five homeowners affected by this
development.
We did meet with him on June 10, 2015. He listened to our concerns and gave us information on the
development.
One concern we had was the fact that the land immediately behind our backyard is currently a hay field and
irrigated with the runoff collecting in a ditch behind our fences and running into drains. Our land is actually
higher, because of fill, than the irrigated land. For example my fence from the lawn to top is only 4 and 1 /2 feet
tall. After looking the situation over, Mr. Clarno stated that the top soil on the land behind us will be moved to
the east side of the development where it is needed and the gradation of the land will then slope toward the main
road that will run into the subdivision for those homes and drain to the street and into the main drainage. The
houses behind us could end up much lower than we are.
Our other concern was the structure of the houses placed directly behind us. Some of these homes will be North
and South where all of our homes are West and East. We requested that single level homes be placed behind us
to alleviate the loss of the view that we now have. Mr. Clarno did not directly say this could be done but
proposed to builders. If the City has any say on this it would be appreciated.
Our other concern was the irrigation water used by the new subdivision and if it would affect the Napoli
subdivision. Mr. Clarno sated it would not affect our source for irrigation water. He stated that possibly in the
future we could be connected to the irrigation system of the new subdivision instead of receiving water from
Kingsbridge.
These are some of the concerns we shared and I have encouraged the other homeowners affected to
communicate their concerns also.
Thank you
Cindy Pixley
