I am sending this email in support of the application of Brighton Corp for their Paramount
Southest Development. This email comes as a result of the letter which Brighton Corp.
received from the City of Meridian which does not seem to recognize the contributions made by
Brighton Corp. to West Ada School District and the community.
Brighton Corp. has been an outstanding partner with the school district. They have been
extremely generous in their donation of land for elementary school sites, including Andrus,
Paramount, and the soon -to -be -built Hillsdale Elementary School. Further, they have been
instrumental in the establishment of partnerships with the YMCA and other entities.
It should be noted that Brighton Corp. has also generously supported Paramount Elementary and
Rocky Mountain High School on a number of projects, including the turfed football stadium.
As to this specific application, I believe that it is, in fact, merely a detailed application for that
which Brighton submitted in 2003. West Ada has known about and anticipated this application
since that time. The construction of Willow Creek Elementary was due in part to anticipation of
the growth that will come from this development.
From the perspective of West Ada School District, Brighton Corp. is the model for active
participation, partnering, and generosity among developers, and it is our hope that you will rule
favorably on their application.
