February 17, 2004 Mayor Tammy de Weerd 33 East Idaho Meridian, ID 83842 Re: Capital Christian Center Request for Zoning Dear Iblayor de Weerd: R ,CEi~~~ ~tB 1 7 ~U I am the co-owner of Waterworks Car Wash, located across the street from the Capital Christian Center. We do not oppose the plans that our neighbor has submitted, but we do have a concern regarding the im~ect it will have on the intersection of Hickory and Fairview. After the services or events at the church; those trying to exit eastbound on Fairview often have to wait some time before the traf£c clears and they sari exit safely across traffic said head eastbound. Instead of waiting, anany turn westbound on Fairview, cut immediately rota the center hate, and turn 'into our property via our Fairview entrance. From tilers, they continue around the rear of our business and exit northbound onto Hickory, and then turn right onto Fairview. This also occurs at ail other times of the day, with the residents that live behind the church. This not only creates a safety concern, it causes additional traffc on our property and during our busy times, interferes with nur customers. With the expansion of the church from its present capacity to over 2,00, it will pause additional strain on an already busy intersection. If you assume an average attendance per service of 80 percent and 2.5 people per vehicle, then at least'7fi$ vehicles will be entering Fairview off of Hickory in a relatively short period of time. How many more vehicles will now be entering our property for the sole purpose of going eastbound on Fairview? We believe that signalisation should be completed at the intersection of Fairview and Hickory at the finis the church opens its new building: W® ask for your consideration in this niattek when you approve the coning request.
