Please find attached the Resolution and Certificate of Clerk pertaining to the
surplus equipment, which equipment is surplus property to the Meridian Fire Department. Please
note that the Meridian Fire Department is conveying the surplus equipment to duly organized
Fire Departments within the State ofldaho, who have accepted the surplus equipment and will
allow it to be used and/or transferred to duly organized Fire Departments within Idaho.
Additionally, this item may be placed upon an upcoming City Council Workshop
forreview and discussion.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO,
SETTING FORTH CERTAIN FINDINGS AND PURPOSES TO DECLARE SURPLUS
PROPERTY; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN TO
CONVEY SAID SURPLUS PROPERTY OF THE MERIDIAN FIRE DEPARTMENT TO
DULY ORGANIZED FIRE DISTRICTS OF THE STATE OF IDAHO PURSUANT TO
IDAHO CODE SECTION 50-1405;
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN,
IDAHO:
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Meridian to declare the Meridian Fire
Department's surplus equipment, listed here in below, as surplus property, due to the fact that
these particular pieces of fire equipment are no longer needed or used by the Meridian Fire
Department. Additionally, the cost and expense to the Meridian Fire Department for maintaining
said surplus equipment exceeds its value to the City of Meridian.
WHEREAS, the cost of maintaining the Meridian Fire Department's surplus equipment,
listed here in below, until said surplus equipment could be sold, if it could be sold, would result
in the unnecessary expenditure of City funds.
WHEREAS, the City of Meridian desires to convey the Meridian Fire Department's
surplus equipment, listed here in below, to duly organized fire districts within the State of Idaho,
which are quasi-municipal entities engaged in providing fire protection services in the State of
Idaho, and pursuant to Idaho Code Section 50-1405.
WHEREAS, the Meridian Fire Department's surplus equipment consists of the

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL, as
follows:
1.
The Mayor and City Council hereby authorize and declare that the Meridian Fire
Department's surplus equipment, listed above, is surplus property.
2.
The Mayor and City Council hereby authorize the conveyance of the Meridian
Fire Department's surplus equipment, listed above, for no monetary
consideration, to duly organized Fire Departments in the State ofIdaho, which are
quasi-municipal entities engaged in providing fire protection services.

I, the undersigned, do hereby certify:
1. That I am the duly appointed and elected Clerk of the City of Meridian,
a duly incorporated City operating under the laws of the State ofIdaho, with its principal office at
33 East Idaho, Meridian, Idaho.
2. That as the City Clerk of this City, I am the custodian of its records and
