With the Weblink system, the work put into creeting meeting CD's also benefits other city departments and the public in that the same ,fonoatlon IS made available to everyone. Better accessability to the City Clerk's files by other departments and agencies. Timely, efficient records retrievel IS a benefit to all city departments and the public. Offering another means through which public information can be accessed is the top long-tenD goal for the City Clerk's Office. (Strategic Plan Key Objective # 2) B. Electronic files, minutes, ordinances and other documents would be availalble with the click of a button for City Council members to review or download. This results in substantial time savings and increased service to our elected officials (Strategic Plan Key Objective # 4) C. Laser fiche reieased a new version of their software that only uses the Microsoft SOL 4,_000 I Server Database. Currently the City pays for LSAP (Laser fiche Software Assurance Plan) which guarantees that we are entitled to all software upgrades at no addltionai cost. Since Laser fiche changed their database engine from Pervasive to the MS SOL Server the LSAP is aimost worthiess because without the current database version we can not upgrade the Laser fiche software.
