RE: Knight Sky Estates Subdivision Time Extension -Justification
Dear Mayor and Council;
As representative for Sea 2 Sea, LLC, please accept this application for a time extension for the
Knight Sky Estates Subdivision plat located on the northwest corner of the intersection of W.
Chinden Boulevard and N. Linder Road in Meridian, Idaho. Knight Sky Estates Subdivision
includes 55.83 acres and was originally approved for 126 residential, 7 commercial, and 26
common lots. The original approval included annexation with a zoning designation of R-4
(Medium Low Density), TN-C (Traditional Neighborhood Center District) and C-C (Community
Business District).
This letter is included with the land use application for Council level time extension, together
with filing fees and various exhibits.
The original approval date on this application was May 23, 2006 with a two year approval
period. On November 5, 2008, the Meridian Planning Director approved an 18-month time
extension for the project until December 6, 2010. Once again, due to the market conditions
hampering developments such as this one from reaching its full potential, an additional time
extension is requested in order to keep all entitlements in place while the property owner
continues to market the project.

COMMITMENT OF PROPERTY POSTING
Per Unified Development Code (UDC) 11-SA-SD, the applicant for all applications requiring a
public hearing (except for a UDC text amendment, a Comprehensive Plan text amendment
and/or vacations) shall post the subject property not less than ten (10) days prior to the hearing.
The applicant shall post a copy of the public hearing notice of the application(s) on the property
under consideration.
The applicant shall submit proof of property posting in the form of a notarized statement and a
photograph of the posting to the City no later than seven (7) days prior to the public hearing
attesting to where and when the sign(s) were posted. Unless such Certificate is received by the
required date, the hearing will be continued.
The sign(s) shall be removed no later than three (3) days after the end of the public hearing for
which the sign(s) had been posted.
I am aware of the above requirements and will comply with the posting requirements as stated in
UDC 11-SA-5.
