GOLF COURSE ADVISORY BOARD
1. City Council Member/Chairperson
2. Men's Assn. President
3. Women's Assn. President
4. Citizen (3 year term)
5. Citizen (2 year term)
Quarterly Meetings: January-April-July-October
Duties: Field Complaints, Annual Tournament (perhaps in conjunction
with Mayor's Invitational), Public Relations
Marketing: All inquiries should be referred to the Marketing Agent
at this time for follow up. Request more frequent
meetings be held (perhaps standing weekly meetings at
least in the next few months or until deemed unncessary)
to inure deadlines are met, momentum is maintained,
and all interested parties are knowledgeable (The right
hand knows what the left is doing:)
1. DAIRY QUEEN: Frank Price/Manager (not a golfer). He cannot
make a cash donation since he's already over budget but he
would be happy to donate any size cake for any special events
we schedule.
2. U.S. BANK: Fred Flippance - Plays Cherry Lane frequently and wants
to be come a lifetime; member but job is insecure at this time.
He will become Lifetime member if he finds he will still be working
in Boise. The bank will not be donating. since our project does
not meet their donation requirements (i.e. leased. to private
individual).
3. WEST ONE BANK: Terry Smith -.will purchase lifetime membership
when their Aspen Condo. sells in McCail. He's turned all
our literature into. .his home office....their budget meetings
were held in August. He'll report as soon as their approval
list is received.
4. FIRST SECURITY BANK: Bernice has turned all our literature into
the home office. Budget meetings were held in August. She's
still waiting to hear. Todd (asst. manager) would love to
become a lifetime member but says, if he had an extra $5,000 he
would have to use it to retire debt.
5. WILL BERG: Would like to purchase .lifetime membership but has
to wait until after election to see ,if his job is secure.
6. JIM. GRANT: Jim and his wife are both members at Cherry Lane in
respective men's and ladies assn., however, feel they are too
old to purchase lifetime memberships. They will send a small
donation to us as soon as they "see dirt move". Jim says he's
been hearing for "years and years" there was going to be another
9 holes but has to-see action to believe it. He's also concerned
with the negatives he's been hearing and reading about in the
newspapers and feels that could possibly halt our project.
7. RON GULLEY: Will send something if I'll resent the mailer. He
just threw the original away since he's not a golfer. Didn't
realize he could just donate. I also indicated to him that he
might be interested in donating time and equipment (excavation)
and, if so, for him to please contact us.
8. .JIM FULLER (888-1116): Grant was of the opinion that Jim might
be willing to donate as much as $100,000 to our project so I
called to inquire. Jim said he was considering a donation and
to please call the next morning. However, when I did so his
wife answered the .phone and said ~.e didn't have any idea what
his thinking was as they had not discussed it, she had not seen
our brochure (so I sent another to their new address on Antigua)
but they would not be donating at this time. She reiterated that
they had donated all the land.

9. ARTECH: Holly Houfburg says he rarely plays Cherry Lane, only
for special events. Therefore, its unlikely he would purchase
lifetime membership. He did not know if he might donate otherwise.
He's not a bit happy"with the city's current lease arrangment
with the Lovans. He's listened to both sides, has had long
conversations with the Mayor and Walt Morrow but is still
convinced the City needs to rewrite at least part of the lease
and now (while we are offering Wally an additional 9 holes)
is the time to do so. He chooses not to join Gerry Sweet's
"Watchdog" group but rather would like to work through C of C
committees and talk with the Mayor and City Council. Holly is
designing the temporary wall la ue_ 3' x 5' to be on display
at Cherry Lane.
10. JOHN EWING: Has many concerns about the Lovans management of
Cherry Lane and thinks the city should take a more prominent
role since they do in fact own the land. But, he still wants
the golf course to be completed and has some ideas (see below)
and is willing to involve himself as deeply as is necessary to
see it through.
a) Donating (or finding a donor) for matching funds.
b) Purchasing Corporate Sponsorship -(100 rounds appeals to him
where 50 were of no interest). He would like to make
business cards. to hand out to friends & clients as gifts
c) Several contractors could pool their talents and resources
and start moving dirt.
John feels strongly that the community has been hearing for too
long that an .additional 9 holes would be forthcoming that now
they are being complacent. Plus, with all the rumor and innuendos.
Plus, all the complaints about golf course management (unfair
practices). John says we need to start some activity now so
we don't lose momentum. He is contacting some contractors to see
if they are interested in working with him.
11. CONNIE CROOKSTON: 1995 Women's Assn. President. Connie hears
lots of complaints...some of which she feels are from constant
complainers and some she feels have great merit. She & Wayne
have discussed Lifetime memberships and as of this time have
not .yet made. their decision whether or not to participate.
