HISTORICAL OR GEOLOGICAL SITES
This AGREEMENT, made and entered into this lath day
of June 19 62, by and bettyeen the State of Idaho,
Department of Highways, party of th® first part, and this C3:ty
of Meridian, Idaho, party of the second part.
Thie AGREEMENT covers the installation of the "Initial
Point" Historical sign by the State of Idaho, Department of
Highways on City property within the S.E. Quadrant of the inter-
seotion of U. S. 30 - Cottonwood Avenue and East 1st Street in the
Ci t~
V~~~~e of M®ridian and the maintenarae of the City park property
and City streets by the party of the seoond part.

4dF3~REAS, The Direotor of the Idaho Historical Sooiety
has determined the above nasded site to be of major historical
import~nceT and,.
WHEREAS, The Director of tkye Idaho Historical Sooiety
or other interested party or parties has requested the State of
Idaho, Department of Highways to install an appropriate Historical
Sign at or near the oonneotion of U. S. Highway 30 and Mate
Highway 69f and,
WHEREAS, The location of the ,Historic al Sign, th® a,ccega
road leading to th® aigil and the 1nt®rseotion of the sob®ss road
with the highway are as indicated on the ®xhibit attached hereto
and made a part hereof.
NOW THEREFOREs In consideration of the premix®s
hereinaft®r set forth the State of I
daho, Department of Highways,
party of the first part,. and the party of 'the a®aond part do hereby
mutually agree as followss
1. The State' of Idaho, Department of 'Highways' will
furnish, instal 1, and maintain a~a appropriste Historical sign on
the City Park property off the State Highway right-ot'-way. The

furnish, install, and maintain appropriate signs on U. S. Highway
3D to direct interested motorists off the highway and to th®
Historical Sign location.
~, The party of the second part dose hereby grant
permission to the party of the first part to install and maintain
said "Initial. Point" Historical Sign on City property.
1;4. The party of the second part wi11, adequately maintain
the access road indicated on the attached Exhibit from the State
Highway to the Historical S1gn.

property on which the Historical Sign is placed.
