Due to extreme and extenuating circumstances we recommend that you expedite your
purchase of our home. Our home has one of the best vantage points for the Ten Mile
Interchange project and the extraction of gravel and materials from Southridge
Construction Site. The Mayor or any other interested party would enjoy the beautiful
mountain and City of Meridian views while observing firsthand the sights, sounds and
vibrations of these projects. Our home is located less than 300 feet from the construction
and finished product of the new Ten Mile Interchange. We are offering our home to any
of you folks because what is a great vantage point for you is an extreme disadvantage
point for us. We find the digging, crunching, flying dirt, rumbling and vibrating sounds
severely disturbing and distracting to the lifestyle we once knew. We are unable to get
the sleep we need for our jobs. Joyce has left the position she held as a hospice nurse due
to being called out all hours of the day and night. She could not count on getting the
sleep she needed just when the construction was not in operation. Now it is being
requested that the hours of operation be authorized around the clock as needed. We have
run out of patience after living in a war like zone for over one year now with several years
more before completion. The sanctuary that our home once was is gone along with its
value.
Your Uniform Development Code states that an accessory use is "one that is incidental
and subordinate to the principal use." How can a gravel mining operation be considered
incidental and subordinate to a residential housing development in the first place whether
it is operated 12 hours a day or 24?
Please remember your commitment of leadership, accountability, common sense and
fairness as you seriously consider this resolution to our unbearable situation.
