RE: Request for Reconsideration
I represent the interests of 25 residents in the Paramount Subdivision. This request for
reconsideration is in response to the City Council's approval of the temporary classroom
building at the Paramount Elementary School. {Aug 25 Meeting, Item #8 - AP 09-002}.
I have been informed by the City Attorney's office that no written notice of the City
Council Meeting, which included this agenda item, was required to be mailed to any
property owners likely to be impacted by any decision. Consequently, no Paramount
residents presented either oral or written testimony at the Council meeting.
The CCR's of the Paramount Subdivision are quite speciEc as to architectural design and
color schemes. Though our residents would prefer not to have temporary classrooms
spread through the school grounds, we understand and accept the need for such
structures. However, we believe that both Planning and Zoning and the Council's
decision in this approval process failed to take into account our community standards in
regards to color scheme. The installed structure's exterior paint color is not compatible
with these standards. In fact, the structure in its present color is extremely annoying, can
potentially lower our property values and denies us quiet enjoyment of our adjoining
properties. I have tried to engage the Meridian School District on this matter but they
have been either unresponsive or argumentative.
Please accept this request for reconsideration and allow us to participate in the dialogue
that impacts our community and our property values.
Sincerely,
Keith a
