RE: Danbury Fair Subdivision #3
Dear Councilmen:
I have reviewed the application for Danbury Fair Subdivision
#3. This planned development will accelerate the need for Joint
School District No. 2 to construct additional classrooms and/or
to adjust school attendance boundaries. Meridian Schools do not
have excess capacity. Nearly every school in the district is
beyond capacity.
The Meridian School District supports economic growth for Idaho
and specifically the district's area, but such growth produces a
need for additional school construction. We ask your support for
a development fee statute on new home construction or a real
estate transfer fee to help offset the costs of building
additional school facilities. If this support is lacking then we
ask that additional residential development be denied.
Residents of the new subdivision cannot be assured of attending
the neighborhood school as it may be necessary to bus students to
available classrooms across the district.
We ask that you assure the developer will provide walkways, bike
paths and safe pedestrian access.
Sincerely,
K)J-f-
Dan Mabe,
Deputy Superintendent

Re: Danbury Fair Subdivision No. 3
Dear Keith:
The proposed plans and storm water run-off calculations for the
above mentioned project have been reviewed. It was observed that
in previously submitted phases promises were made that were to be
addressed with the submission of Phase 3. All run-off for the
southerly portion of Phase 1 is running into Phase 3, then it is
discharged into the Adkins Drain. This is not accounted for in the
submitted material. A small portion from Phase 3 is running into
Phase 2, then discharging into the Adkins Drain. Nothing is
submitted addressing how much the discharge from Phase 2 will be
increased. Therefore, I feel that the submitted plans are
inadequate. Items from Phases 1 and 2 will affect or be affected
by. Phase 3 and they need to be addressed.
The plans for the construction of Phase 3 include a portion which
will be over the Adkins Drain. It would be helpful to see more
detail and a letter from Ada County Highway District agreeing to
accept this subterranean drain underneath their roadway.

The Nampa & Meridian Irrigation District has reviewed the revised
plans for the above mentioned project. These plans have addressed
the requested changes and, if constructed according to plans, Phase
No. 3 should not substantially impact the District.
Nampa & Meridian Irrigation District will need a new legal
description for the Adkins Drain as relocated. Once the District
has received a signed license agreement from the developers, B.W.,
Inc., the review will be completed and Danbury Fair Subdivision No.
3 will be approved by the Nampa & Meridian Irrigation District.
Please feel free to contact me if further discussion is required in
