Box 427 Meridian, Idaho 83642 Re: Cherry Lane Golf Course Your Letter of April 21, 1992 My sincere apologies to you and to Mayor Kingsford. I cannot believe so much time has passed since I received your letter. You will recall from my letter of December 1991 that we are familiar with the desires of the Mayor and the expectations of the City of Meridian with respect to the eventual completion of the last nine holes of the Cherry Lane golf course. Our position at that time, as now, was that Simplot had not acquired the parcel with any development project in mind. As you may know, we have met with various developers to review their proposals for continuing with residential expansion on that parcel. No proposal was sufficient to entice us to participate. The need to carve out three fairways for the use of the City was a disincentive in each case, but there were other problems as well. We are certainly willing to meet with Mayor Kingsford as a courtesy, but since nothing has changed from our view it would likely be unproductive unless the City has some new ideas. I do not say this with any antagonism or cynicism; I just do not see what we can offer that does not result in a detriment to Simplot. And, it is not my job to give away Company assets. If you believe, nevertheless, that something positive can come from our meeting, then please so advise me and I will make every effort to schedule a meeting here with appropriate Company persons present. Again, my apologies for this tardy response. Thank you. C~ ~ ~°~`"`~ r V Charles E. Morey Director Real Property f3riruri~x~ F~~ilh'~; 1 ~,~,,;~,in; ~~ ~~, f~ ~ l ~1,,
