The Special Meeting of the Meridian City Council was called to order by Mayor Robert Corrie at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2001.
Members Present: Robert Corrie, Keith Bird, Ron Anderson, Tammy de Weerd, Cherie McCandless.
Others Present: Bill Nichols, Bill Gordon, Gary Smith, Bruce Freckleton, Janice Smith, Kathleen Putman, Brad Watson, Will Berg.
Item – Adoption of Resolution No. 01-361 – To declare the need to construct a Law Enforcement Facilities, to approve the project and authorize the construction and acquisition of said
facilities, to prescribe a lease and trust agreement and related documents as the most suitable manner for securing construction and financing of said improvements, to authorize the
filing of the Judicial Confirmation Proceedings, to direct the city officials to proceed with said facilities and financing and filing of the Judicial Confirmation Proceedings:
Corrie: Since we do have all the Council people present, except Ron Anderson, and he will be here shortly, I will open the special meeting of the Meridian City Council. This is going
to be a special meeting. This is adoption of a Resolution, No. 01-361. That is to declare the need to construct a Law Enforcement Facilities, to approve the project and authorize the
construction and acquisition of said facilities. Also to prescribe a lease and trust agreement and related documents as the most suitable manner for securing construction and financing
of said improvements. And to authorize the filing of the Judicial Confirmation Proceedings, to direct the city officials to proceed with said facilities and financing and filing of the
Judicial Confirmation Proceedings. You’ve heard the reading of Ordinance No. 01-361. Is there anyone in the…well let’s have the…well, that’s what we’re doing here tonight. Let’s have
the City Clerk read the Resolution, by title only at this time.
Berg: Thank you Mr. Mayor and members of the Council. Resolution No. 01-361, is a resolution of the City Council of the City of Meridian, declaring the need to construct law enforcement
facilities, approving the project and authorizing the construction and acquisition of said facilities, prescribing a lease and trust agreement and related documents as the most suitable
manner for securing construction and financing of said improvements, authorizing the filing of Judicial Confirmation Proceedings, directing the city officials to proceed with said facilities
and financing, thereof and with the filing of the Judicial Confirmation Proceedings and providing an effective date.
Corrie: Okay, you’ve heard the reading of the proposed resolution, is there anyone in the audience that want the entire resolution read in its entirety. Okay,
hearing none, Mr. Attorney, so we can have the vote? Is that correct at this point?
Nichols: Yes, Mr. Mayor. You’ll need a motion to approve it.
Corrie: At this point, I’ll entertain a motion to approve Resolution No. 01-361.
Bird: Mr. Mayor. I move that we approve Resolution No. 01-361 regarding the Police Station.
McCandless: Second.
Corrie: Motion has been made and seconded to approve Resolution No. 01-361, for Judicial Confirmation. Any further discussion? Hearing none, all those in favor of the motion? No,
let’s do this as a roll-call vote.
Roll-call: De Weerd, aye; Anderson, aye; McCandless, aye; Bird, aye.
MOTION CARRIED: ALL AYES
Corrie: Resolution No. 01-361 is adopted. Okay, that takes care of the special meeting. So at this time, I’ll entertain a motion to close the special meeting.
Bird: So Moved.
McCandless: Second
Corrie: Motion is made and seconded to close this special meeting. Any further discussion? Hearing none, all those in favor of the motion say aye.
MOTION CARRIED: ALL AYES
MEETING ADJORNED AT 6:30 P.M.
