The special meeting of the Meridian City Council was called to order by Mayor Robert
D. Corrie at 6:25 p.m.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Ron Anderson, Keith Bird, Charlie Rountree, Glenn Bentley.
OTHERS PRESENT: Robert Corrie, Will Berg.
Corrie: We'll discuss the possible approval of the legal department organization of the
law firm. Council, at this time I have Eric Rosman from the White, Peterson, Rosman
and Gigrey law firm would like to present real quick the submittal to you on the use of
their law firm. So I would like if we could go into Executive Session and we'll have him
present that to us and we'll come back.
Bird: Mr. Mayor I make a motion we go into Executive Session in accordance with the
Idaho Code.
Bentley: Second.
Corrie: Motion made and second that we go into Executive Session in accordance with
Idaho Code. Any further discussion? All those in favor of the motion say aye.
MOTION CARRIED: All ayes.
(EXECUTIVE SESSION)
Corrie: We've returned from the Executive Session. I'll entertain a motion to go out of
Executive Session.
Rountree: So moved.
Bentley: Second.
Corrie: Motion made and second to go out of Executive Session. All those in favor say
aye.
MOTION CARRIED: All ayes.
Corrie: Okay, I'll entertain a motion on the subject at hand of the legal representation
for the City of Meridian.
Anderson: Mr. Mayor, I make a motion that we accept the proposal for legal services
from White, Peterson, Pruss, Morrow, and Gigray with the stipulation that we only award
the contract for one year instead of the two years as they are requesting with an option
for the second year.

Bird: Is that also fiscal year or from today?
Anderson: With the time frame including the remaining time on this fiscal year and for
the 98-99 fiscal year.
Bentley: Second.
Corrie: Motion made by Mr. Anderson second by Mr. Bentley on the motion as stated.
Any further discussion?
Bentley: I have some discussion possibly, but I'll hold it.
Corrie: All those in favor — let's do this roll call vote.
ROLL CALL VOTE: Anderson, yea. Rountree, yea. Bentley, yea. Bird, nay.
MOTION CARRIED: All ayes.
Corrie: I'll entertain a motion for adjournment.
Bentley: So moved.
Anderson: Second.
Corrie: Motion made and second that we adjourn. All those in favor say aye.
MOTION CARRIED: All ayes.
MEETING ADJOURNED AT 7:05 P.M.
