Pursuant to our discussion of November 5, 1979, I am providing
this proposal for inspection services on the Cherry Lane golf course.
A field inspection will be performed to assess the adequacy
and operational characteristics of the water supply and irrigation
system. All exposed above-ground appurtenances will be observed
through at least one operational cycle. Our report will list prob-
lem areas in two categories. These categories are design related
problems and construction related problems. We will also comment on
observable maintenance and operation deficiencies related to the irri-
gation system. The report will include recommendations for remedial
action, as necessary. No attempt will be made to either review or
comment on the golf .course design or maintenance and operation func-
tions except as listed above.
Prior to the field inspection, the project plans and specifica-
tions, presently on file at the City offices, will be reviewed.
Design inadequacies will be based on information contained in these
documents and any supporting correspondence provided to us from the
City files. Adequacy of the system to perform intended functions will
also be assessed.
The observed installation will be reviewed for compliance with
the plans and specifications. It-may be necessary to review appli-
cable manufacturers' literature to determine the adequacy of certain
equipment. We will rely on experience and professional judgment to
assess normal and prudent construction practices.
Based on discussions with parties involved with the golf course,
I expect that the inspection will require two days in the field.
Office time will be required to prepare the report. I will present
the report and be available for comment at a meeting of the City
Council.
