Re: Request for Transfer of Conditional Use Permit for “All About Kids”
Childcare Center Located at 1155 E. Chateau Drive in an R-8 Zone, by Zejna
Garibovic and Kathy Sokoli (File No. TCU-03-001)
We have reviewed this submittal and offer the following comments, as conditions of the
applicant. These conditions shall be considered in full, unless expressly modified or deleted by
motion of the Meridian City Council:
APPLICATION SUMMARY & BACKGROUND
The applicants, Zejna Garibovic and Kathy Sokoli, are requesting a transfer of Conditional Use
Permit for the existing childcare center “All About Kids” located at 1155 E. Chateau Drive.
Conditional use permits, once they are approved, normally run with the land, and upon sale of
the property are transferred to the new owners without further application, however, home
occupations & childcare facilities are the exception to this. Transfer of conditional use permits
for childcare facilities for the same use for which the original conditional use was approved are
required to petition the City Council for approval (MCC 11-17-10).
The current owners of the property are Muhammad & Sabiha Ali, and they have submitted
notarized consent for this application.
The original Conditional Use Permit was submitted by Jerry Cobler and approved by City
Council on June 11, 1996. The permit was approved for the care of up to 25 children.
LOCATION & SURROUNDING USES
The subject property is located at 1155 E. Chateau Drive, north of E. Fairview Ave. and west of
N. Locust Grove Rd.
The following uses surround the subject property:
North – Single-family residential, Chief Joseph school, zoned R-4
South – Single-family residential, zoned R-8
East –Single family residential, zoned R-8

CONDITION OF APPROVAL
1. The current applicant will be required to submit to the City of Meridian a copy of their
child care license issued by the Department of Health and Welfare of the State of Idaho
within one month of City Council approval.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of the proposed transfer of Conditional Use Permit for a childcare
center for up to 25 children.
