'` Attorney :Wayne Crookston stated that including the right,of-ways would require `~ ~ public hearing procedure. i ,~= ~ `'~'' Councilman Kingsford amended the Motion to strike out "with the condition that ~" ~ their change the boundary to include one-half of the Railroad and Highway 30 t ~ r%ght of waZr's" Right-of-way's will be excluded. ~' ~ ,.fi ~' ' ~ ~~; Councilman Brewer requested that the Motion be amended to strike out "Upland ~ ';~ Eagles industrial Park Annexation" striking out the name Eagle. - Y I:. ,~ ~~ The-Motion was made by Kingsford and seconded by Orton that Upland Industrial Park "` Annexation be approved and zoned "D".Industrial to the City of Meridian; that ,~~ 3 ~ Upland Industries help shoulder the expense of amending the City,of hleridian Comprehensive Plan and Urban Service Plan; to comply with the recommendations of ~;.;: the Meridian Planning and Zoning Commission that consideration be given to the T~ ,~' i~r~gaton`and drainage of P1r. and Mrs. Ray Johnson's property; and to meet the ;~': recommendations of the Ada County Highway District. r` Motion Carried: Kingsford, yea; Tolsma, yea; Brewer, yea; Orton, yea ti , ~;., - j Mr. Howe .thanked the riayor and Council after hlayor~Glaisyer extended congratulations. 1 ~ - Agenda ' 4 VARIANCE -.Mohammad E. Alidjani dba SANITARY SERVICE ~ Mohammad was present to request a building requirement variance on property located a~ 423 West Broadway. ~ , j - Mohammad: "We have an old barn on the property at which we park our trucks. ~ h, Zt is nqt in a stable condition and we are not able to take our trucks inside. ~; ~` ~ (Mo dispfiayed drawings of buildings, as is now and proposed) The door is 9x9 :''and I need 12x12 to get our trucks in. With this plan it would give me a three g~, _~tall.o;f 12x12, overhead doors, .two of them to a11ow the diesel trucks in the winter time. The third one is going to be for small repair. With this in mind, %;' t~1r $ch~-~n advised me that I may need a variance. My property is zoned industrial, my, men: are covered with the State insurance Fund, Health .insurance and on and off t ~ the job insurance. This improvement would be low cost and something that will ~ '~~ help me stet' in business." ~ a ~: i ~' There was discussion concerning the Industrial Zoning which extends west of 4th ,and sou,~h,pf Broadway to the westerly City boundary. ~, `~~ ~ ~ I~Ighammad'`explained that he had to have Industrial zoning to park the Sanitary ;. Service °Rwrucks. ~ ~ '' ":The 6ui'Iding Inspector stated that he had proper zoning to park the trucks but ~ ,',.possibly.M©hammad would need a building code variance as the building did not meet an,y building code standards. He recommended a variance for the use of the bui 1 ding w~ th minor remodeling. ' ~ ~'<~ There .was discussion concerning the extent of remodeling.
