Jan. 19, 1980
Honorable Mayor Glaisyer
City of Meridian
Meridian, ID 83642-
Dear Mayor:
I aw writing this letter in reply to the letter sent by Mr. Guar L. Walker
of A.W.B. Ind., dated Jan. 15, 19$0, concerning his dissatisfaction in dealing
v3.th this department and nyself personally. In the letter he wakes reference
to his compatoy and sub-contractors, employed by A.W.B. Ind., loosing valu»ble
time because of water hookup inspections. Mr. Walker alleged that this
waste of time has been caused needlessly by nyself.
I would like to present the following comment$ to refute this charge.
In checking our records we find that for a total of 20 lots we have had to
wake 40 inspections. ~actly ts+ioe the number as should have been needed.
On each of thss 1~0 inspections w® were notified by A.W.B. Ind. by telephone
that everything was ready for inspection. On a number of certain lots we
have been called out as manpr as (3) times before the hookup was wade or
properly completed.
This has usually been caused by a reoccurrence of the saws problems
Deer and over despite bringing this to the attention of A.W.B. Ind. by
telephone. The backhoe operator or plumbers bending water peter yokes,
file being crushed or torn by vehicle~a, or showing up at a time agreed
2
upon or set bY' A.W.B. Ind., only to find the problem still has not been
corrected or no initial hookup yet made.
The above is not merely words or my personal recollection. Through
application records, employees day timers and the. office telephone day
timer, we have ample documentation to back these statements.
As a matter of fact, because of wasted employee time and vehicle fuel
expense, our experience with A.W.B. Ind. was one of the mayor reasons for
brityging about a change in our policy concerning inspection fees so that
we rww charge for each reinspection. In this specific case A.W.B. Ind.
ti
would have payed X800.00 for water inspection fees instead of the normal
$l~00.00 had the policy been in effect the entire period.
In closing I would like to make a final comment. In reading Mr. Walkers
.letter I cant help but believe that in the future the sincerity and
seriousness of at~r charges or accusation brought about by Mr. Walker
would appear more valid if he, (1) . Took the trouble to correcte3- spel.].
a persons Hams when singling hi~n out for negative attention-Stuart- not
(Stewart)- and,(2). Before thxowing important words around either he or
his secretary learn their correct spelling-incompetent-not (incompitent)
as in M~, Walkers letter.
Sincerely
" Bruce D. Stuart

Dear Mayor Glaisyer:
Inasmuch as the permanent sewage treatment facility
for the City of Meridian has been completed as of August 1,
1979, Leavitt NuPacific will be disbanding the. operation of
the duplex lift station used on an interim basis for Glennfield
Manor I.
For the cost of removal of the lift station, Leavitt
NuPacific is hereby donating the apparatus to the City of
Meridian. Removal of the station by the City should be co-
ordinated with Gene Wright in order to prevent any disturbance
in the existing sewer lines.
It is our hope that the City of Meridian can benefit by
the use of the lift station.
Respectfully yours,

Duplex Lots
After discussions with the Developers of Glennfield Manor, we would at
this time like to respectfully request that the City of Meridian allow the
seven (7) duplex lots in Glennfield Manor No. 1 to be split and sold as townhouse
lots. Tt is felt that this will be a more satisfactory arrangement for the
homeowners and the City of Meridian. Will you please put this item on the
agenda for the next City Council meeting, if convenient. `

Gentlemen:
We reviewed Glennfield Manor No. 1 Final Plat as of this date;
our comments are as follows:
No area appears to be set up for a retention pond to retain
run-off from the streets. It does not appear that Nampa & Meridian
Irrigation District water will be used for irrigation.
If you have any questions concerning these comments, or if
we can be of further assistance, please contact us.
Yours very truly,
