This growth has caused the physical limits of the City to expand accordingly via annexation, The Meridian annexation ordinance requires that the City remain contiguous and that no annexation be allowed where it is found to be completely separate to the City. A recent remiew of our records indicates that there are sections of the Union Pacific Railroad right of waq through Meridian that are needed to maintain the continuity of the City, Zn order to provide the needed continuity, we would like to annex certain portions of the Union Pacific Railroad right of way. Pursuant to that goal, we are providing herewith, a description and drawing of the portion of right of way that we desire to annex, As we would like to begin the proceeding during our City Council meeting of April 1, 1974, we would appreciate your quick response to this request.
