Dear Planners:
The Meridian School District has experienced phenomenal student growth the
last ten years. The high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools
throughout the district are operating over capacity. Residents may not be
assured of attending the neighborhood school.
Approval of the Cavanau h Rid a Subdivision will have a significant impact on
school enrollments at Mary Mc Pherson Elementary School, Lake Hazel Middle
School and Mountain View High School. We can predict that these homes, when
completed, will house seventy six (76) elementary aged students, seventy (70)
middle school aged students, and fifty eight (58) senior high aged students.
School capacity is addressed in Idaho Code 67-6508. The Meridian School
District is currently operating beyond capacity. Future development will continue
to have an impact on the district's capacity. If you have any questions, please
