It has now been 5 ,months since the results of the Meridian City 'Customer Service Proj~ were
turned overto the persPective departments to utilize in strengthening and improving their I
service. It is time to implement the next, step in the process---a fannal internal reuew-up to see:
. . How the two departments are áoing with all the information that they received. .
. Wbat new processes they have developed. .
. Wbat kinds of cbalJenges have occurred.
. Wbat cuMomer service training is still needed.
. Wbat bas been the response to them ftom their customers.

I want do this process by persoœI interviews with the tlirectors and managers plus a confidential
questionpaire to each employee of the department so that they can give us a candid perspectivè
of what ,is happening. The feswtl of the interviews I!1ld survey would be disttibuted and
discussed with the City Council. I want to, also, meet with each department as a whole and
discuss the results and do necessary training as I did in the past.
Since we and your customers have discussed the need to foUow-up with the same
questionnairefmterview process,with the same 109 external customers, probably starting this late
summer or early Fall, it is essential to get candid feedback ftom your employees now to see what
proWeSs is being made or what ad.iu,stments need to be done if necessary..' ' "

I would like to meet and -discuss how this would occur. The total inveStment financially would
, depend on what work is chosen i.e. how many employeeslmanagers are included in the survey
and. personal interview process and if the résu\ts would œquire additional training. ~
Please let 'me know what you think of this proposal. . We could q¡eet to discuss it in much more
detail then I could project the cost-filctor. I wiD be out-of-towe until March 3 but would like to
meet with You that week if at all possible so we can get the ball rolling on this. I have flexibility
in my schedule on '315,6,7 so please let me know what wiD be convenient for you.
