Mr. Harold Cox
Meridian City Council
728 Meridian Street
Meridian, Idaho 83642
Dear Mr. Cox:
SUPPLY COMPANY
one 375-5050 * Box 2840 • Boise, Idaho 83701
May 22, 1973
As you know, we have started construction of our new Cut Plant on
Taylor ,Street in Meridian. In order to complete the plumbing bids, I
need to know our cost for the following:
1. Sewer tap fees.
2. Water tap fees.
3. Water meter fees.
We propose to hook onto the 6" mail line on Taylor Street for our
water supply, run an 8" line to feed three outside fire hydrants and
branch off with a 6" line to feed the three in -plant hose reels and the
office area. (See blueprint sent this date under separate cover.)
The office portion of the plant consists of two small offices, a
lunch room and rest room with 2 water closets, 2 urinals and 2 wash
basins. A 2" line will supply this area.
I'm assuming the water meter will be placed on the 2" line feeding
the building and the fire hose wupply will be on a commercial rate.
Also, we will cut off the 1-1/4" line at Taylor Street that feeds
the building Boise Cascade is leasing from us and re -conned it to our
new 8" line approximately 240 feet north of Taylor - assuming again that
the meter can be moved from Taylor Street at that point.
The sewer will connect to the line running parallel to Taylor Street.
If you need more information, please let me know.
very truly yours,
_.......

Honorable Ilayor & Ci-ty Council_
City of T4e.ridian

rentlerien:
This letter is written as an sxplanation of the attached Cf-ty of idera_d.a_an,
D,,Ail-ding Permit Anplicati.on. The purpose of the application i_s to obtain yol..zr
approval_ for the placement of a Boise -Cascade Prebuilt Home on Lot 1, of T.a.7rl_or
Addition.
This "home" will be used as a sales model by our fi rn, 1 am attaching hereto
also the first page of a groi.i.nd lease bet,reen m_;r firm and C.ra.de A T-,Tj-llc Producers
AL soci_ation, Inc., the owners of the land. You can see that we have only a one
years lease. ince do have the option to renew for a successive year reriod. However
the lease also provides for a 90 dar cancellation by either Dar. t,,r.Thus you see that
rnsr plans must be on a temzrorary, rather than permanent basis. The lease also
states that any improvement or bu-`_l.ding put on. the -property w-1-11 be considered
ners, onal. property and can and will be removed at any fermi at of the lease.
Since the situation is thus a "temporary" one, we have made the decision not
to have either water or swwer hook -un to this model. home. We w:, -Il have electric
lir,hts and electric heat and rower. The sewer is about 150 yards away from this
rroperty measuxi.; g frhm the Tna.nI-Lole behind the T4assey-Ferguson. Implement Co. and
cost.; indicate a charge of apnroxinately $1500.00 for an 81, line., There
is an existing 4" Line from TTssey-Ferg,,a.son to the Phillips Petroleum Property. I
inquired of the creamery if they would participate in tl,:is imr)rovem.ent to their
DroD?rty and they indicated they would not.
I wish to advise the City Council however, if our sales venture is successful
and if we can get, a. lona term lease or fa-orable -ourch.ase of this rroperty we will
install 'both water and. sewer facilities to this property and model hone. It is
our present plan to Dour the required footing and also cement piers for this bu:iId--
ing to sit on thus making it feasible to move the entire bidding off_ the property
if that becnmes necessary.
We will furnish any additional information and be happy to meet with you or
your representative if necessary.
