Dear 1•?ayor Stacey: "C; P.2cently our department has received several questions fron developers inquiring as to e;ho may cen:~ect to the t~'exidian sanitary server system. Since thea.e zppears to be some question Gs~to our position an additional connections to the sewer system, we would like to clarify the matter at this time. . Apparently, our department ]ias na jurisdiction on s•~divzsions ` or land within the City ti•,hich eras platted prior ,~o Jerry Yoder's letter of relay 2, 1973; consequently these subdivisions may~be_con- ,. nected to the sanitazy se~.rer if the City of rieridian has no objections. Holvever, vre tirould like to point out that Aleridian could violate its P1PDE5 discharge permit if it continues to allow a.dclitional connections ~. to the se:~rer system, and that once such violations occur, briazging the sewage treatrrr~nt plant ef'luent back into compliance tritll the permit might be difficult. ti'!e would also point out that your letter of January 9, 1975 concerning a cexti-ficat.e of adequacy fox the '* :' -~..., Meridian se~rage treatment system stated that addit}.anal connections ~"~` to the sewer system would not be allowed.
