Dear Planners:
The Meridian School District has experienced phenomenal student growth the
last ten years. The high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools
throughout the district are operating over capacity.
Approval of the Messina Meadows Subdivision will have a significant impact on
school enrollments at Siena K-8 School. Lake Hazel Middle School and
Mountain View High School.
We can predict that these homes, when completed, will house ninety four (94)
elementary aged students, eighty four (84) middle school aged students, and
sixty nine (69) senior high aged students. Residents may not be assured of
attending the neighborhood school, as it may be necessary to bus students to
other schools across the district.
School capacity is addressed in Idaho Code 67-6508. The Meridian School
District is currently operating beyond capacity. Future development will continue
to have an impact on the district's capacity. If you have any questions, please
