MUNICIPAL AUDIT LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING The City Council City of Meridian, Idaho We are pleased to submit this proposal covering an examination of the financial statements of. the City of Meridian, Idaho, for the year ended September 30, 1977. Our examination will be made in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards and will include tests of the accounting records and such other auditing procedures as we consider necessary to enable us to render an opinion on the fairness of your financial statements. It is not contemplated that we will make a detailed examination of transactions nor that we will necessarily discover fraud should any exist. We will, however inform you promptly of any findings that appear unusual or abnormal. Idaho Code prohibits a Certified Public Accountant from making a voluntary disclosure concerning his client's affairs. However, in the public interest, it is mutually agreed that if our audit should disclose evidence pointing to nonfeasance, misfeasance or malfeasance on the part of an officer or employee of the City, we will promptly make a report of such discovery to the City Attorney and furnish a copy of the audit report to him as soon as it is completed. The engagement will be undertaken at regular per diem rates and it is estimated that the total fee will not exceed $1,925.00 (including travel). Upon any indication that the fee will exceed this amount, the City Council will immediately be informed of that fact and the reasons therof, in writing. ' Agreement of this understanding will be recorded in the minutes of the. City Council as indicated hereunder by the signatures of the Mayor and City Clerk. 4mith,Bailey & H son, CPAs City of Meridian, Idaho 1<7C<^` f 'Mayor III te • JC l ;/Icity Clerk Date Afe nher—Thr Arnerwan Instimw of ('<rtified Public A(rnantants - - The Idaho Society of Certified Public, Accountants ADA UNI V TO: X Ada County Assrssn^ X Ada County Engineer X Ada County Highnav District Ada County Sheriff X Ada Soil Conservation District Airport Director Poise City Public Work Poise City Police Department -Poise Project hoard of Control A,, Central District Health _ X Fire District ( X Irrigation District.
