Re: Location: SWC Cliiaden Blvd. & Ten Mile Rd.

Case No. CPA OS-001
Hearing Date: Ju1y 31, 2008
Deaz Zoning Administrator,
Thank you for the opportunity to comment on this notice. The property has no existing access to US 20/26.
In August 200b, our office received a permit application from Bradley Janicek to move an existing approach
located approximately'/ mile ea,st of Ten Mile Road to a new location 568 feet from Ten Mile Road to
serve a sod distribution company. Because the existing approach Mr. Janicek was looking to relocate was
located on an adjacent parcel, ITD sent a letter to Mr. Janicek on August 10, 2QQ6 requesting additional
information and clarification. No response was received prior to August 10, 2007, r~ulting in closure of the
application due to inactivity from the applicant.
(3ur office does not support direct access from the property to US 20/26 as shown in the conceptual layout
submitted with the application. We have safety and mobility concerns with an access so close (approx 570
feet) to the Ten Mile intersection. Further, the proposed access shown onto US 20/26 is inconsistent with
the on-going 20/26 corridor study; ITD Board designated Type IV access confrol spacing; and city
ordinance for spacing on US 20/26. If no direct access to US 20/26 is provided through ITD's permitting
pracess and/or the City's land use authority, is the plan to have retail uses similar to the layout shown in the
applicant's concept plau viable?
If you have any questions please call me at 334-8377. ~
