MERIDIAN CITY COUNCIL JUNE 30 1997
The special meeting of the Meridian City Council was called to order by Mayor Robert
D. Corrie at 4:Of3 P.M.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Walt Morrow, Glenn Bentfey, Chariie Rountree, Ron Tolsma:
OTHERS PRESENT: Wil1 Berg, Wayne Crookston, Shari Stiles, Kenny Bowers, Chief
Bill Gordon, Janice Smith, Gary Smith:
Corrie: What we are doing here folks is we are getting you all together for the first time
and giving you the general run down of what we will be doing in each one of the
separate sessions, 30 minute sessions. You each have the handout which is the
Meridian City plan. What this Counci! has done, the council members and myself have
gotten together and tried to see how we can get the City going into the year 2000 and
then 5, 10 and 15 years thereafter. The primary purpose is future planning for the City
so we have somewhere around 70,000 or 80,000 people. With that we know there is
going to be a lot of demands upon the staff and the personnel.
Morrow: Excuse me Mr. Mayor could we do this as an Executive Session so that v~ can
be closing the doors and press forward. We had advertised going directly into executive
session. I don't know that there is any need for public to be looking through the doors
and so on and so forth as we press forward with this.
Corrie: We can do that if you so desire. f wilf entertain a motion to go into Executive
Session.
Morrow: So moved
Rountree: Second
Corrie: Motion made and seconded to go into Executive all those in favor? Opposed?
MOTION CARRIED: All Yea

Corrie: We are out of Executive Session at five minutes to ten. I will entertain a motion
to adjourn.
Morrow: So moved
Rountree: Second
Corrie: Motion made and seconded to adjourn, all those in favor? Opposed?
