RC: Browning Pls~za (Walhnan) Annexation - Request for Recorisiaeration
Dear Mayor and Gouncil;
f1s ~~epresentative for Boise-Waltman, LLC, please accept this request for reconsideration of
Browning Plaza Annexation applicafion.(AZ 06-063). On July 8, 2008, the Meridian City
Council voted to approve the appTicafions for this development. Detailed development. agreement
language was presented to Council by stafFand'the applicant; and a motion was made to approve
the application with the discussed conditions of appi~oval.
The p.urpose of this reconsideration request is,fo elarify a few of tlrose conditions in rela"tionship to
the 'intent by Couneil and direction to staff This would include clarification with regards to the
pz•oposed uses adjacent to existing residential. The second reason for the reconsideration requesf is to
provide additional information :to Co.uncil in an effqrt to allow the applicants request to obtain a
building pertnit foi the initial'phase of development af the satrie time that the intersection
improvements are in progress. The applieant has a new proposal that will allow the residents of
Waltman Lane an alternative access point to their neighb~rhood while construction is underway.
This information ~vas not previously presente,d and is in response to ~vhat ~vas brought up at
the nrevious hear.ing, We have met with Anna Canning to discuss these issues, and it is our
understanding that slie is in concurrence with the condition modification/clarification issue, and is
open #o accepting additional information regaiding the permit issue.
Due to "the complexity of this .application and the desire of the applicant to work with the City'
and the neighbors wlule making sure that their interests are profected, we believe that this request
is necessary to ali parties involved. We appreciate your consideration in this matter and hope to
see you. soon to discuss in greater detail.
