Ms . Pew,
8taff is actually requesting that this project be continued to the July 17th hearing
because the sign posted on the site had the incorrect hearing date (July 7th). No
testimony will be taken at the meeting on July 3rd; if you are available, you may come to
the hearing on 7/17 and testify.
I will forward your written testimony to the City Clerk's office for inclusion in the
public recor.d.
Thank you for your comments,
Sonya Watters

Subject: No Maverik Store Please
Dear Sonja Watters,
I will be out of town on the July 3rd so I wanted to send this email.
First of all I don't appreciate the time you set for this meeting because I feel like you
are having this meeting at a time you know not very many people will be available to come.
I do want to voice my opinion about the Maverik store slated for the corner of McMilian
and Locust Grove. I REALLY don't want to see this put in . I feel like we have the
Albertsons close enough by that we don't need another convenience store so close. I know
Maverik's gas may appear to be a little cheaper, but the Octane is also lower, so in the
end the gas prices are not any cheaper really if you want to use Octane 87 or higher. I
think convenience stores are generally higher for most items, so I don't shop at them
unless I'm out traveling and need something quick. Only once in a great if I am in
desperate need for one thing will I spend the extra money to go there. I also don't know
why we think that we have to put up business everywhere and not leave a Residential area
Residential once in a while. Besides, these type of stores, just bring in more chances of
problems with robberies which obviously bring in those type of characters looking to cause
trouble which I would just as soon do without out.
If my email opinion counts for anything, I hope you will consider not putting this on this
corner. I really want to keep this little corner of the world residential as much as
possible. We already have plenty of schools within 1-2 square miles, so we don't need to
make this a small city as well.
Thanks,
Liz Pew
