Pre-developed flow need not be calculated and is assumed to be zero for our calculations. P05T-DEVELOPED FLOW AND VOLUME CALCULATIONS Post-developed Flow for the basin areas are calculated using the Rational Method, The Time of concentration is based on a carfthination of lot to street time, gutter time and applicable pipe time prior to reaching the detention pond area The lot time is calculated using Manning's kinematic solution (Overton and Meadows 9976}. This equation is also used for sheet flow of less than 300 feet. The gu##er time is calculated using the travel length along the gutter and the gutter velocity at the design slope. Pipe time is calculated using the pipe travel length and an average pipe velocity. The post-developed volume is calculated using a Triangular Unit Hydrograph. Past-developed volume and flow are based on the 1 flour 900-year storm event. The reseeding limb of the hydragraph is extended to 60 minutes if the time of concentration is less than 30 minutes. SEEPAGE POND VOLUME CALCULATIONS The seepage pond volumes are calculated using the post-developed volume from the Triangular Un'lt Hydrograph and subtracting a percolation rate of 13 inches per hour. The volume is increased by 15% to compensate for sedimentation build up between pond maintenance intervals. The dissipation rate for the pond water will be a minimum of 90% in 24 hours. PIPE SIZING AND HYDRAULIC GRADE GALCULATIONS These calculations employ the Manning Equation combined with flow entering the pipe. The hydraulic grade is based on predetermined flaw and pipe size. A freeboard of 1 foot is used from upstream catch basin tap of gutter. SAND AND GREASE TRAP SIZING CALCULATIONS The sand and grease traps were sized based on the post-developed flow draining to them. The throat width is calculated with ibis flow and a maximum velocity of 1.0 fps through the throat. The exiting discharge is assumed to equal the entering discharge.
