Caleb Hood, Current Planning Manager City of Meridian Planning Department RE: ZOA-07-002, Temporary Use UDC Text Amendment March 4, 2008 City Council Agenda Item #10 With the subject application, Staff is proposing to remove the temporary use provisions from Title 11 (UDC) of city code, in anticipation of consolidating all the temporary uses into Title 3. Planning Staff has been working with Emily Kane, Legal Department, on a code amendment regarding temporary uses. That title (3) is anticipated to include mobile sales units, garage sales, citizen use permits, special events, outdoor markets, model homes, sales offices, and other uses currently in Title 11. However, the Title 3 amendment proposed by the Legal Department is not scheduled to be heard until the March 11th City Council meeting. To avoid having a period of time with no codified standards for temporary uses, Staff believes that the subject UDC amendment and the proposed Title 3 amendment be acted on during the same Council meeting. Therefore, Staff recommends that the public hearing for ZOA-07-002 be opened and continued to March 11, 2008. Planning Department .660 E.
