Maple Grove Rd. Boise, ID 83704 PLS Dear Keith: The physical properties and internal soil drainage conditions were examined in five representative test holes on 8 acres of the Steiner property. This property is located in the part of the NESW and NWSE of Section 3, T3N, R1W, BM, in Ada County, south and west of the Ustick and Ten Mile Roads intersection. die test holes were logged (described) where retention ponds may be placed. Field notes for the test holes and a plat map of the property are attached. The approximate location of the test holes are shown on the plat map. Test hole No. 1 (TH1) currently has free water (water table) at a 118" depth. The soil is presently saturated below 115" . It appears the soil has potential for high groundwater to within 75" of the ground surface. The indurated hardpan (55-75" depth) could perch water above it during irrigation season, if over irrigated. Test hole No. 2 (TH2) currently has free water (water table) at a 132" depth. The soil is presently saturated below 120" . It appears the soil has potential for high groundwater fluctuating to within 57 of the ground surface. The strongly cemented compact layer at 32-57" could also perch water above it if over irrigated. Test hole No. 3 (TH3) currently has free water (water table) at a 130" depth. The soil is presently .saturated below 118 and very moist below 57" . It appears the soil has potential for high groundwater fluctuating to within 57 of the ground surface. Again, the strongly cemented compact layer at 32-57" could perch water above it if over irrigated. Test hole No. 4 (TH4) currently has free water (water table) at a 135" depth. The soil is presently saturated below 118". It appears that fluctuating groundwater has the potential to rise within 75" of the ground surface. .Test hole No. 5 (THS) currently has free water (water table) at ~a 135" depth. The soil is presently saturated below 117" and, is near field capacity below 84 . It appears the soil has potential for high groundwater fluctuating to within 84" of the ground surface. PVC pipes (monitoring wells) were placed in test holes No: 2 and 4, and will verify high groundwater levels if read during the 1998 irrigation season. • • In summary, it is my opinion that water tables will range in depths from about 5 to 7 feet below the ground surface during the peak of the irrigation season. If you have any questions about this report, please call (208) 336-8661, office; or (208) 375- 7565, home. Sincerely, G~ ~1~~"" Glen H.
