Mayor De Weerd asked me to respond to your inquiry regarding Notice to Blue Cros
of the Pinebridge project. You had provided her wi h a copy of a memo from Tom

The City of Meridian pursuant to its ordinance and the Idaho State Code (Local Lan
Use Act) requires that all requests for annexation follow a strict noticing requirement. T d
assists the applicant by providing a list of property owners within 300 hundred feet of the su City
property and that mailed notice is sent by the applicant. The applicant must also follow the leeal
requirements of posting the site with a sign notifying the general public of a pendin land

that should have received notice. It is unusual that a property would receive notice of
Council hearing and not the hearings at the Planning and Zoning Commission that recedthe City

Our review does not give any indication that anything was done differently in this
matter than in the numerous other land use applications that the City receives annually. I noted
that your firm has filed a Petition for Review with the District Court so I would assume thi '
may be discussed further in that forum as well. s issue
