BY COUNCIL MEMBER: ~~~~~~ ~~~'~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO, AMENDING SECTION 1 OF CHAPTER 12 OF TITLE 1 OF THE REVISED AND COMPLIED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN PROVIDING FOR THE DESIGNATION OF THE IDAHO STATESMAN AS THE OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MERIDIAN, IDAHO: SECTION 1: That Section 1 of Chapter 12 of Title 1 of the Revised and Complied Ordinances of the City of Meridian be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: • 1-1201: OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER: The Idaho Statesman printed and published in the City of Boise, be and is hereby designated the official newspaper of the City of Meridian, and such ordinances, notices and publications as are required by law to be given publication in a newspaper shall be published in said Idaho Statesman. (Ord. 175; 10-7-68) SECTION 2: All ordinances, resolutions, orders or parts thereof in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, rescinded and annulled. SECTION 3: VALIDITY: The Meridian City Council hereby declares that any section, paragraph, sentence or word of this Ordinance as adopted and amended herein be declared for any reason to be invalid it is the intent of the Meridian City Council that it would have passed all other portions of this Ordinance independent of the elimination herefrom of any portion as may be declared invalid. SECTION 4: SAVINGS CLAUSE: This Ordinance does not affect an action or proceeding commenced or right accrued before this Ordinance takes effect. • • SECTION 5: DATE OF EFFECT: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its passage, approval and publication, according to law.
