AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF MERIDlrP-N PROCLAIMING A GENERAL CITY
ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 4; 1997, DESIGNATING THE POLLING
PLACES, DESIGNATING THE REGISTRAR AND DEPUTY REGISTRARS, AND
ORDERING THE CITY CLERK TO GIVE ~JOTICE OF SUCH ELECTION; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AID CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MERIDIAN, IDAHO THAT:
SECTION 1: The General City Election will be held in and for the City of
Meridian on the 4th day of November, 1997, at which time there will be elected Council
Members for Seat #2 and Seat #4 to serve for a term of four years, or until the election
and qualification of their successors.
SECTION 2: The following are designated as the polling places for such
election:
FOR THE FIRST PRECINCT #800:
American Legion Hall
22 W. Broadway Avenue
Meridian, Idaho
FOR THE SECOND PRECINCT #801:
Meridian City Hall
33 E. Idaho Avenue
Meridian, Idaho
FOR THE THIRD PRECINCT #802:
Meridian Library
1326 W. Cherry Lane
Meridian, Idaho
SECTION 3: The City Clerk, for and on behalf of the Mayor and Council, shall
give public notice of the time and place of holding such General City Election by posting
such notice in three public places or publishing such notice in at least two issues of the
Valley News, a newspaper printed and published in the City of Meridian, Idaho, the first
publication of such notice to be made not less than 45 days prior to the date of such
City Election and the last publication not less than 15 days prior to the date of the
election; the notice so published shall state the polling place in each precinct and the
hours during which the polls shall be open fqr the purpose of voting; said notice to
contain such information in accordance with the requirements of Section 50-436 of the
Idaho Cade.
PASSED by the Council and APPRgVED by the Mayor this 2"d day of
September, 1997. ~ _
