parking lot. This change order consists of the following work and amounts to 0.44% of the

sphalt parking lot.
• rovide all labor and materials to over excavate for curb and gutter along the east
ide of parking area to remove fat clay soils.

Qn the above dot .our representative performed ~~+~ork on the referenced project as reported below. MTI
personnel. art7ti~ed on site to visually assess exposed subgrade for curb and gutter and existing parkixtg lot
extension for the rove referenced. project. Representa.tivcs from both Kreizcnbeck Constructors and Meridian
City VE'ater Depart ent were nn site during the inspectivn_ exposed subgrade was found through probing tv be
soft and yielding r both the curb & gtrtter and. parking lot extension: Existing parking lot was observed to
have geotextile .fa ie overlain with 6 inches of sub-base and 4 inches of base course. M'TI recommends:
• Curb & gu~ter along the east side of the parking area -- over-excavate existing dark browm fat clay soils
to ftrrrt an.d.Ilunyielding sandy silt soils. An excavation depth of G inches can be expected..
• Extension f existing parking Lot to the west -place geotextile fabric (Goatee 0300 or equivalent) on
existing so & yielding clay soils. Fabrzc must overlap the existing fabric in the pazking area
approximat ly I''/z feet.
• Upon over- xca.vation of the subgrade under the curb & guuter anal placement of geotextile fabric for. the
parking lot xterisi.on, contractor may proceed ~~ath. the pl.accment of structural f Ll._ Structural fill must
be placed i maximum 12-inch thick loose lifts and be compacted to at least 9~% of the maxirnurn dry
density as d - tcrmined by AST)/i D-698.
