Item 5. Public Hearing: CUP OQ-4~ 4 Re uest for Conditional U
q se Permit
for an ~ 800 s.f. homeloffice to be used as office s acelrelocation in
p
a C-N zone by C.I. Construction, Inc. -West Barrett Drive south
of Franklin Road:
Corrie: Item No. 5 is a public hearing, re uest for Conditional Use P
q ermit for
1800 s.f. homeloffice to be used as an offices ace 1 relocation in a C-N
p zone by
C.W. Construction, lnc., West Barrett Drive south of Franklin Road. At thi '
s time I
will open the public hearing and have staff comments first.
Stiles: Mr. Mayor and Council, this is for basicali a remnant arcel th
Y p at was
created when Ada County Highway District acquired this iece for their drains
. , p ge
pond. So ~t s essentially spilt the property. It doesn't make much sense to
go
through the subdivision process because, basicall the lots are there. Thi '
Y~ s ~s the
en#rance into Crestwood Estates. There are residential uses surroundin h
gte
property. This is the storage area for the subdivision that has a fence around it
and you can view it from Franklin Road. This is the remainder that's }
left as
undeveloped. The applicant has purchased an existin buildin that wa
g g s located
on State Street in Boise. The pictures didn't come out ve well. Here'
ry s the site
plan. They re showing landscaping aloe the entrance road there an
g d then also
the 20-foot required planting strip on the other road. The will be usin i
y g t as an
office. You can't see ~-these are really rou h. The is#ures were so `
g p dark it was
hard to f x them. It was from an existin structure. We had as
g ked that pant --
more, lguess - ~t s kind of a bright blue right now, and the had a reed tha
y g t they
would paint that to be more compatible with the surroundin area. '
g Staff ~s
recommending approval with the Conditions stated in our comments. That's all I
had.
deWeerd: Mr. Mayor, Shari, have the ~- when ACHD s lit was tha
p t legally done
or ~s that an illegal parcel?
Stiles: It was basically their one-time split, but it reall made thre
y e lots because
ofthe way it was split.
deWeerd: So I guess my ques#ion still stands. Is it le al? Has
g the paperwork
been done properly and that sort ofth~n ~
g
Stiles: Yes, it was. It was just an awkward situation 'ust because
~ of the way they
left--they basically created a separate lot when the did it.
