Re: Application MI 07-009 - Dorado Subdivision
Dear Mayor DeWeerd and City Council:
The Overland Way Subdivision is contiguous to west boundary of the Dorado
Subdivision. As the President of the homeowners association, I have been authorized
by the majority of the property owners to oppose the above referenced application
requesting modification of the Dorado Subdivision Development Agreement.
We do not oppose the development as originally approved, as provided in the
Development Agreement, but we do oppose the modification of the Development
Agreement to allow for the relocation of the two buildings and the parking. Mr. Moore is
creating a nice development and we appreciate his efforts to minimize the impact on the
neighboring residential uses, but the proposed moving of the buildings to the north of the
Lots 1 & 2 of Block 1 is not acceptable and will have an adverse impact on the
neighbors.
We agree with the assessment of the City of Meridian Planning Staff, as stated in the
Staff Report that the proposed modification to the approved concept plan in the
Development Agreement, "... will be detrimental to the public welfare and impair the
use/character of the surrounding properties."
